| A is an attack attached to each Medal that requires a certain number of gauges to use. When the player has enough gauges, these Special Attacks can be unleashed by swiping the Medal toward the center of the screen. Special Attacks can be single target, all target, or random target, referring to the number of enemies struck by the attack. Some rare Medals might have an all-target Special Attack which is normally single target; these Special Attacks will have a higher gauge cost to activate. | ||
The number of | The number of hits dealt by Special Attacks tends to increase as the Medal increases in rarity. For example, Yuna's Special Attack has one hit at 1★ and 2★, two hits at 3★, 4★ and 5★, and three hits at 6★.
The damage for a Medal's Special Attack is determined by a damage multiplier attached to each Medal. This multiplier can be increased by combining two of the same Medal of the same rarity to fill in one dot. A Medal's Special Attack power can be increased by fusing in Chip Medals to increase the Medal's strength, through unlocking and maxing the Medal's Special Attack Bonus, and by positioning Medals in slots on your Keyblade that have a multiplier. Some Special Attacks have a multiplier range, and increase in power if certain requirements are met. For example, Sonic Blade inflicts more damage to sleeping targets, and Zantetsuken inflicts more damage the lower the player's HP.
